Chinese Painting
1. Program Description
Chinese Painting aims to make copy, sketch interconnected with invention, and traditional skills integrated into such teaching process as portraits, flowers and birds, mountains and waters. The program focuses on learning in traditional skills and theories, as well as absorbing and expanding contemporary perceptions and skills. With the goal of striking the foundation, the program emphasizes not only on honing the ability of basic modeling, but also of invention with steady basis on Chinese Painting. The program aims to cultivate enterprising and practical experts with sustainable potential in development who can master basic theories and knowledge in Chinese Painting and Arts, Successful graduates are expected to teach, create, or study Chinese Painting.
2. Program Duration and Credit
This is a four-year undergraduate program, which can be completed within a minimum of three years and a maximum of seven years.
A total of 159 credits are required upon the completion of the program.
3. Curriculum
Three modules of courses are offered for the program: Basic Curriculum, Essential Curriculum, and Elective Curriculum. The Basic and Essential curricula are compulsory for a Bachelor’s degree.
The Elective Curriculum in the list includes extended disciplinary courses offered by the school into which an individual student is admitted, as well as cross disciplinary courses offered by other schools. Students can choose the extended and cross disciplinary courses according to their personal interests and career plans; however, credits should be approved by the School.
