literature of 40 years of reform and opening up: logical starting point and construction of stage history

Introduction:The paper was published in Jiangsu Social Science in the 5th issue of 2018, XinhuaDigest in the 3rd issue of 2019, China Social Science Digest in the 1st issue of 2019, and reprinted in the 12th issue of National People's Congress photocopy: Chinese Modern and Contemporary Literature in 2018. As an important previous achievement, this paper benefitted the author in helping him be granted a project and receive funding from the National Social Science Fund. Different from the "literature of the new era", which has become a consensus in the history of literature, the "literature of 40 years of reform and opening up" is a growing concept of literature history, whose logical starting point is the ideological liberation movement beginning in 1978. In the field of modern Chinese literature research, the "literature of 40 years of reform and opening up" as a "small historical period" and is artificially divided into "new era literature""1980s literature""1990s literature" and "new century literature" and other smaller historical periods. As a matter of fact, the "literature of 40 years of reform and opening up" is a whole of literature history with its own internal logic. Constructing a holistic historical view of every stage of the "literature of 40 years reform and opening up" period and combining the then divided smaller historical periods, so that they do not act independently. Investigating many literary phenomena in the forty years from the perspective of literary history using a holistic viewpoint, is expected to become an important academic growth point of modern Chinese literature research.
