On the morning of June 16th, Minqiang Hu, president of Nanjing Normal University, and Baiqi Pan, NNU vice president, had a meeting with president Kristin G. Esterberg and his team from State University of New York at Potsdam.
During the meeting, NNU president Minqiang Hu indicated that both parties look for the common ground to cooperate for mutual development.
NNU vice president Baiqi Pan extended his warm welcome to the president Esterberg and made an introduction of NNU school history, school scale, subject characteristics, discipline advantages and the developing situation of international cooperation and communication among NNU and other counterparts. During the speech, he put an emphasis on the developing history of NNU higher art education and expressed the wish to establish a cooperative relationship with State University of New York-Potsdam in all terms of art education. President Kristin G. Esterberg stated that the two universities shared similarities in many aspects providing with a good base for cooperation in art education in terms of music, painting and new media, etc. She pointed out that State University of New York at Potsdam were equipped with most advanced facilities for art education and had won great appreciations from students in terms of student satisfaction and teacher-student closeness. She greatly welcomed NNU teachers and students for visiting and communicating.
State University of New York at Potsdam was the oldest university in the State University of New York system, which embraced the longest school history. The university was famous for its traditional disciplines like pedagogy and musicology, etc. The Crane School of Music was one of the largest and oldest schools of music in America, which was ranked as 28th in Top Public Schools (for undergraduate studies) in northern USA.
