President of Moscow State University and His Delegation Visited NNU

On the afternoon of January 13th, 2016, President Minqiang Hu and Vice President Jiandong Miao met with the delegation from Moscow State University (MSU), led by President Hollomonkov. The other members included Gurleyshelve, Director of Education Administrative Department, Mylnikov, Director of Psychology Department, and Eugene, Director of International Exchange Center, accompanied by Wu Hao, Chairman of Russian Federation of the Overseas Chinese Youth.

NNU President, Professor Minqiang Hu extended warm welcome to President Hollomonkov and his delegation. President Hu introduced the history and development of NNU, discipline construction, scientific research, international exchange and cooperation, etc.. Meanwhile, he hoped for further cooperation and communication with Moscow State University in terms of mutual visits among teachers and students.

President Hollomonkov highly appreciated NNU’s gracious reception. He introduced the related situation about Moscow State University and expressed that NNU and MSU shared similar history and characteristics in pedagogical education and language training. He also looked forward to extensive cooperation in joint supervision programs for students, two-way communication, summer course and joint laboratory.

Directors of International Cooperation and Exchange Office from the two universities introduced the international exchange situation and proposed promising projects and fields for exchange and cooperation. Both sides discussed specific cooperation programs and reached an agreement on exchange programs for students and teachers. On the one hand, NNU was to accept two outstanding students recommended by MSU for Master Degree and to help them apply for Chinese government scholarships as academic financing aid. On the other hand, MSU was to accept a teacher from Russian Department in NNU as a visiting scholar for ten months and to help him apply for national scholarship as academic financing aid. Meanwhile, two students from NNU were expected to attend a summer course in MSU. Both sides discussed cooperation between Schools of Psychology and initially reached a consensus on exchange professors’ short-term lectures and mutual visits between teachers and students from both sides.  

This meeting also involved heads of Teaching Affairs Office, School of Psychology, and International Cooperation and Exchange Office.

After the meeting, accompanied by Vice President Jiandong Miao, the MSU delegation visited the History Museum of Nanjing Normal University. 
Moscow State University was founded in 1931. As a center for scientific research and institution of higher education, it is one of the largest universities in Moscow. MSU has advantages in many fields including mathematical analysis, theoretical physics, thermal physics, physical chemistry, bio-science, zoology, language and literature, Russian history, Russian language, pedagogy, psychology, etc. A number of Russian top scientists and scholars in MSU have engaged in numerous significant research projects. MSU is also home to many outstanding experts.
