On April 14, 2021, Nanjing Normal Universality started its vaccination week. Students and teachers from all 28 schools at NNU have the choice to take their first jab at will and for free. The local health department also appointed a contingent of professional nurses and doctors to carry out the inoculation process.
A temporary vaccination site is set up in the Yi-fang Auditorium, Suiyuan Campus. After the inoculation, vaccine recipients are required to stay for a half-hour in the medical observation area to watch for any latent side effects.
Another temporary vaccination site was set up in the gym on the Xianlin Campus, which was divided into registration, inoculation, and medical observation areas. From professors to students, everyone lined up in order.
Dr. Haihong Ji from the School of Foreign Languages and Cultures, updated his moments in Wechat soon after the vaccination. He shared his feelings concerning the shot, saying that the doctor was very good, and there was no pain during the injection.
Jiayun He, a student from Taiwan, also was inoculated with the vaccine. She described the whole process of inoculation as very convenient and that you just need to fill in the form, hand it over to the nurses or doctors, and get a jab. “I was a little bit nervous when the needle was pushed into my skin,” she said, “but after the inoculation I felt at ease, with just a little soreness in my arm.”
