NNU overseas students honored at the ‘Shared Joy in Jiangsu’ Chinese Speech Contest

Recently, three overseas representative students of Nanjing Normal University  named Tarana from Azerbaijan,Tianle Pan from Argentina and Qinglang Ma from Northern Sudan won awards for their excellence in the 2017 “Shared Joy in Jiangsu” Chinese Speech Contest for foreigners in Nanjing region.

During the contest, NNU students left a good impression on judges and audience with their fluent Chinese and outstanding talent show, which fully displayed the charm of the integration of Chinese and foreign culture. Tarana won the first place in the round and was selected as one of the three competitors from Nanjing division to be enrolled directly to sit in the final round of the contest. Tianle Pan got the third prize and Qinglang Ma got the excellence award in the contest in Nanjing division. The three representatives were the winners of 2016 Confucius institute scholarship and Chinese government scholarship. Their excellent performance in the contest were regarded as the full display for the NNU superior education upon overseas students.

The “Shared Joy in Jiangsu” Chinese Speech contest was organized by Information Office of the People's Government of Jiangsu province, Office of Education of Jiangsu province and Office of Foreign Affairs of People’s Government of Jiangsu province, and was hosted by Jiangsu Broadcasting Corporation (JSBC). It included a series of activities regarded as the noted event of Jiangsu seeking for Chinese and foreign culture communication. NNU took an active role in motivating the foreign students who studied in the university to participate in the contest.
