NNU athletes draw good results at the 13th National Games of China

At the 13th National Games of China, athletes of Nanjing Normal University School of Sports Science and Physical Education strived to compete and drew good results.

Doctoral student Ruoqi Hui, undergraduate Changning Zhang, and undergraduate Xiangyu Gong represented the Jiangsu Women’s Volleyball Team and helped it win the first ever gold medal at national games. Postgraduate Dou Wang won the silver medal with 13.14 seconds in the Women’s 100m Hurdles; Postrgraduate Jianan Wang, took the bronze medal with 8.12 meters in the Men’s long jump; Undergraduate Jianan Xu finished in fifth in the Men’s 400m Dash and earned a silver medal in the men's 4×100m relay race with three other athletes.

Teachers of the School of Sports Science and Physical Education also participated in the sports gala. Cheng Guo, who was a member of the National Team of China and won gold at the Men’s Double Badminton at the 11th National Games, coached the amateur badminton team and led it to win men’s team of badminton Group B and Badminton Men’s Doubles; Zhidong Chu and Weidong Zhu, both the referee of the track and field events, and Jing Chen ,the referee of gymnastics, all played their parts in fairness and justice of the Games.

The National Games of China is the highest-level, biggest-scale and most comprehensive sports game in China, which featured more than 20 sports and drew a total of 8500 athletes from mainland, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan and different industries of sports associations to participate in.
