Minjie Lin, a NNU Professor, Honored the Bearer of Red Flag March 8!
Recently, All-China Women's Federation held the "March 8" International Women's Day Commemoration and Commendation Conference in Beijing. Qi Cai, the member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Secretary of the Central Secretariat, attended the General Assembly and presented awards to the representatives of the advanced models honored. The General Assembly honored 298 Bearers of Red Flag March 8 and 199 Collectives of Red Flag March 8. Minjie Lin, a professor of the School of Foreign Languages and Cultures of Nanjing Normal University won the honorary title of “Bearer of Red Flag March 8”.

Ms. Lin is a professor in the School of Foreign Languages and Cultures, a doctoral supervisor and a member of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference. Rooted in the front line of teaching, she insists on moral education and cultivates talents with great care by combining theoretical research with social practice. She actively innovates ideological and political theories teaching in all courses, guides students to participate in international conferences and various online international exchange activities, and encourages students to take the initiative to share China stories by good communications.
She has been dedicated to her work and has achieved outstanding performance in teaching and research over the years. She has hosted and undertaken more than 10 major projects of the National Social Science Found of China and projects at the provincial and ministerial levels. She has published 20 books at home and abroad as well as approximately 100 articles and more than one million words of translations in authoritative journals. She has also hosted and participated in more than 400 international forums and cultural events. As a returned overseas talent, she became the only specially invited professor of arts in Jiangsu Province in 2011.
She insists on combining academics and society, promoting foreign exchange and cooperation, enhancing people-to-people contacts between China and foreign countries, and widely spreading the vision of a community with a shared future for mankind. As a member of the Education and Teaching Steering Committee of the Ministry of Education, the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, the Federation of Taiwan Compatriots, the Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, the Women's Federation at the provincial and municipal levels, she also takes part-time jobs in international and domestic related societies, associations, and other social work, in which more than 50 proposals have been established and adopted.
She has been actively involved in women's studies, set up a common platform for women's literature studies, promoted the overseas dissemination of female writers' works, as well as put forward a number of proposals on the rights and interests of women and children. With the active participation in the public welfare cause of poverty alleviation at home and abroad, she donates epidemic prevention materials and cares for the vulnerable groups. The relevant deeds and activities have been reported and reprinted by authoritative media at all levels.
In recent years, she has won the first prize of the Contribution Award of the All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, the Advanced Individual of the Democratic parties, the Federation of Industry and Commerce, and non-party personages for their contributions to the building of a moderately prosperous society in all respects, the Advanced Individual of the Central Committee of Taiwan Democratic Self-government League for Poverty Alleviation, the Advanced Individual of the Fight against COVID-19, the Advanced Individual of the returned overseas Chinese and the family members of overseas Chinese and other honors. She has won the award as the excellent teacher for dozens of times in national and other types of professional competitions.
The National People’s Congress and the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference were held smoothly in Beijing. Minjie Lin attended the CPPCC National Committee session as a member of the 14th CPPCC National Committee. In the convention, she submitted proposals on inheriting outstanding traditional Chinese culture and enhancing international communication. “I hope that I can focus on my own work in the future, actively perform my duties and fulfill my responsibilities to get a high-quality result. So finally, I can make contribution to the modernization with Chinese characteristics through my own efforts”, She said.

“As a woman, I will continue to be active in women's studies.” She keeps close contact with women's studies and female writers at home and abroad, works hard to build a common platform for women's literature studies, promotes the overseas dissemination of female writers' works, and puts forward a number of proposals and suggestions on the rights and interests of women and children.
