Jianan Wang wins in the Long Jump with an Asian games record

NNU’s star athlete Jianan Wang won the first Gold in the men’s long jump with a game record at the Jakarta Asian Games on Aug 26th, 2018.

Jianan Wang was on his game in the long jump final. He achieved 8.24m on the first jump, which not only placed him at the top, but also broke an Asian Games Record.

In 2018, returning to the field after recovering from an operation, Jianan Wang jumped 8.47m, tying Jinzhe Li’s National record and only 1cm away from the Asian Games record.

Even though strict training takes up a large part of his school life, Jianan Wang still enjoys going to the classroom and taking part in various activities. On the track, he is a national hero; on the campus he is nothing but a normal student.

Zhidong Chu, the dean of the School of the Sports and Physical Education, sent congratulations to Jianan Wang and put forth the future desire that the staff will continue working together to make more champions.

Other players from NNU also had good showings in the Jakarta Asian Games. Dou Wang won the fourth place in the 100-meter hurdles and Jiaxin Wu won the fifth place in beach volleyball.
