International College for Chinese Studies Hosts the 2016 New Year’s Party
The 2016 New Year’s Party of the International College for Chinese Studies was successfully held in Yifang Lecture Hall on Suiyuan Campus. Vice President Professor Miao Jiandong was invited to the gala, and more than 300 people, including directors of related departments, Chinese and foreign teachers, and students from the college attended the event to welcome the coming 2016.
At the beginning of the party, Dean of the College, Professor Duan Yehui, made a New Year Address. He made a brief review on the work and achievements the college made in 2015, especially the fruitful work in offering high-quality education for Chinese and overseas students. He extended his sincere gratitude to the university leadership and departmental directors for their support and guidance. It is for everyone to believe that the coming 2016 is a year of hope and expectations, and all of people present wished for more success.
This gala was designed to provide a platform for all the students to show their shining and splendid spirit of youth and to bring out the international atmosphere of International College for Chinese Studies and the university as a whole. As the performance started, the host lineup consisting of hosts from China, France, Belarus, Bosnia Herzegovina and South Korea firstly came in sight, who greatly impressed the audience. The whole party was performed by Chinese and foreign undergraduates, postgraduates and teachers from the college. Their shows covered singing, dancing, solos, recitation, short plays, etc. and created an exciting atmosphere of constant climax and applause.
As a traditional celebration with cultural activity in the college, the New Year’s Party of Chinese and foreign teachers and students not only coveys their expectations for the new year and expresses the sincere wishes among the students, but also fills the campus culture with international spirit and the warmness of a united family.
