After a series of active applying and preparing, Nanjing Normal University was authorized and sponsored by Confucius Institute Headquarters (Hanban) to have successfully held the theme activity on “Spring Adventure to China” for the prize fellow from Confucius Institute at Alsace.
Confucius Institute at Alsace was established by Nanjing Normal University, Strasbourg Council and Jiangsu Provincial Government On Jan 23, 2007, based on the agreement signed by the Hanban and the Strasbourg Council.
During the period of April 16th to 30th , twelve French students visited NNU and their tour in Nanjing is arranged by NNU School of Foreign Languages and Cultures.
The students took a series of informative courses concerning Chinese Contemporary Culture and participate in activities for culture experiencing in different forms. The activities include not only courses concerning Chinese language, contemporary Chinese filming, Chinese Kungfu, and Chinese Go, but also communication experiences with local families. NNU organized a session for interaction and communication between French short-term visitors and NNU students to strengthen the the friendship, help reach a consensus in between, and so as well to broaden students’ international horizon and improve their international communicative ability. To enhance the acknowledgment of French students on Chinese technology, enterprise culture and Chinese historical culture, NNU offered them a visit to the Research and Development Center of HUAWEI Technologies Co., Ltd. (Nanjing), Confucius Temple, The Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum, The Memorial Hall for the Nanjing Massacre and etc. While they were in Beijing, French students also paid a visit to the Hanban.
French students expressed their pleasure in taking the activities in which they improved their Chinese, experienced Chinese culture and grasped a general knowledge to the contemporary China. Students sent great gratitude to the Confucius Institute Headquarters (Hanban) and NNU for their extraordinary arrangements and gracious hospitality. They hoped to be the bridge for friendly intercourse between Chinese and French youth in the future.
