A Delegation Led by the Vice President of the University of Exeter Visited Nanjing Normal University

On the afternoon of April 8th, president Guihong Hua and Vice President Linwang Yuan met with a delegation led by Vice President Richard Follett of the University of Exeter at the Xianlin Campus.

Guihong Hua warmly welcomed Richard Follett and his delegation and provided an overview of our university's rich history, distinctive educational features, academic development, and achievements in international exchanges. Hua expressed hope that the visit by the delegation from the University of Exeter would serve as an opportunity to establish a platform for educational exchange and cultural mutual learning between China and the UK. He emphasized the importance of deepening communication, fostering friendship, and actively promoting cooperation in interdisciplinary talent cultivation and scientific research.

Linwang Yuan elaborated on our university's recent progress in international educational cooperation, expressing the hope that both universities could fully leverage their respective disciplinary strengths to promote bilateral exchanges in talent cultivation, faculty exchange, research collaboration, and jointly hosting international conferences.

Richard Follett expressed gratitude for Nanjing Normal University's warm reception and highlighted numerous points of convergence between the two institutions in educational philosophy and academic specialties. He anticipated future in-depth educational cooperation between the two universities, particularly in fields such as geography, environmental science, and education.

Richard Follett and his delegation visited our Suiyuan and Xianlin campuses, touring the museums and the School of Geography. Officials from the Office of International Cooperation and Communication, the School of Geography, the School of Physics and Technology, the School of Life Sciences, and the School of Chemistry and Materials Science participated in the discussions.
