A delegation from the University of Maryland visited NNU

On the afternoon of January 18, 2019 NNU Vice President Lixin Tian met with the dean of the College of Behavioral and Social Sciences from the University of Maryland, Gregory Ball, Associate Dean Mengxue Li, and staff member from of the International Affairs Office, Lisa Chen, on the Xianlin Campus of NNU. 

Lixin Tian welcomed the delegation and introduced NNU’s recent progress in discipline construction, scientific research and international cooperation. Gregory Ball thanked NNU for its warm reception and brought good news about the successful signing of a cooperation agreement between the two universities. Lixin Tian said that the University of Maryland and NNU have jointly administered a Criminal Justice Master’s Degree Program for 14 years, which has already developed into a Sino-foreign cooperative education program with an excellent teaching staff, outstanding students and high social recognition. The newly signed cooperation agreement will be valid for ten years, which reflects the full support for cooperation in projects, high trust, and recognition of the partnership between the two universities. The first batch of students has been jointly cultivated by the University of Maryland and NNU through a Geographic Information Science Master’s Degree Program, which runs well with good evaluations from the community. According to Gregory Ball, the University of Maryland attaches great importance to its cooperation with NNU, and the College of Behavioral and Social Sciences of the University of Maryland fully supports these two projects and looks forward to cooperating with NNU in other fields.

During the visit, the delegation will attend the commencement of students who enrolled in the Criminal Justice Master’s Degree Program and Geographic Information Science Master’s Degree Program in 2017 which are jointly held by University of Maryland and NNU.
