A delegation from Krirk University visits NNU

On April 9th, 2019, the president of Nanjing Normal University, Guoxiang Chen, met with the president of Krirk University, Krasae Chanawongse, Dr. Changming Wang from the Administration Committee, Qi Mei from the International College etc. on the Xianlin Campus. The directors from NNU’s Office of the President and the Office of International Cooperation & Exchange also attended this talk.

Founded in 1952, Krirk University is known as one of the earliest private institutes to offer classes in English. The purpose of setting up this university in the early stages was to promote English teaching by using a combination of Chinese style administration and Western style teaching. The president of this university, Professor Chanawongse, used to be the Minister of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Education and Ministry of Public Health, Kingdom of Thailand. He also won the Ramon Magsaysay Award.

Guoxiang Chen welcomed this delegation and expressed admiration of Professor Chanawongse for his academic achievements and working experience. Then he introduced Nanjing Normal University in terms of its development history, teaching, scientific research and international exchange. Krasae Chanawongse, in turn, extended his gratitude for NNU’s hospitality and introduced the current situation and internationalized education of their university. Later, both sides discussed how to cooperate with each other in programs for student and teacher exchanges.
