Minqiang Hu, Doctor of Engineering, Professor, and Doctoral Supervisor, is currently Secretary of NNU Committee of CPC.
Minqiang Hu received his Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Machinery from the Department of Electric Power and Automation Engineering, Tianjin University in 1982, and earned his Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering Theory from the same university in 1985. He taught in the Department of Electric Power and Automation Engineering of Tianjin University from 1985 to 1986. In 1989, he obtained his Doctoral degree in Electrical Machinery from the Department of Electrical Engineering, Huazhong University of Science and Technology. From 1989 to 1991, he worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher with the Department of Electrical Engineering in Southeast University, Nanjing.
Minqiang Hu has long been engaged in research in the field of electrical engineering and automation, and he has taken a leading role in more than 20 research projects funded by the National Science and Technology Major Projects Program, National Natural Science Foundation of China, Provincial and Ministerial Science Foundation, and “Program 863”. He has been awarded more than 20 national patents, and has published over 130 research papers in major Chinese and international journals, co-authored 2 academic monographs, compiled 7 national textbooks and professional books, and won 3 Second Prizes of the Provincial Technology Progress Award.
With his outstanding accomplishments in academia, Professor Hu was awarded many honorary titles, including winner of the Excellent Young Teacher Fund from the Ministry of Education, a member of the 2nd Group of "Project 333", a member of the Young and Middle-aged Experts with a Prominent Contribution to Jiangsu Province. He is also a technological expert receiving the State Council Special Allowance, and has been appointed as a member of the Consultative Group of the State Council for evaluating university programs, Director of the Ministry of Education Committee of Electrical Engineering Teaching for Higher Education, a member of the Chinese Society of Electrical Engineering and China Electro-technical Society, a member of the Commission of Micro and Special Electrical Machines of National Standardization Management Committee, Director of the Provincial Electro-technical Society, and the Deputy Director of the Commission of Micro and Special Electrical Machines of China Electro-technical Society. In addition, he is a member of the editorial board of a number of academic journals.
