Jiandong Miao, Doctor of Education, Professor, and Doctoral Supervisor, is Vice President of Nanjing Normal University.
In 1984 Professor Miao graduated from the Department of Education, Nanjing Normal University, with a Bachelor’s degree of Education (majoring in School Education). In 1998, he graduated from the School of Education, Nanjing Normal University, with a Doctor’s degree of Education (majoring in Principles of Education). In 2002, he visited the University of Toronto in Canada as a Senior Visiting Scholar.
Professor Miao is currently engaged in researches on adult education, particularly family education research. He has led a number of research projects funded by Humanities and Social Science Funds of the Ministry of Education and key projects funded by Jiangsu Province Social Science Foundation. His publications include Sociology of Family Education, Family Education" and over 60 peer-reviewed articles in a number of influential academic journals. He also won a number of honors such as "National Excellent Individual in Family Education" jointly recognized by National Women's Federation and the Ministry of Education.
Professor Miao is also Member of the Academic Committee of China Adult Education Association, Vice Chairman of Family Education Committee of China Association of Education, Member of Jiangsu Province Education Consultation Committee, Chairman of Jiangsu Province Education Society, Vice Chairman of Jiangsu Province Higher Education Association, Vice Chairman of Jiangsu Province Family Education Society, and Vice Chairman of Jiangsu Province Adult Education Association.
