Phase Engineering of Novel Nanomaterials

Hua Zhang

Professor Hua Zhang was admitted to the Department of Chemistry of Nanjing University in 1988, and has obtained bachelor's degree and master's degree from Nanjing University. Later, he went to Peking University for doctoral study in 1995. Since 1999, he had worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Leuven and Northwestern University. He is currently a professor at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. He is engaged in the study of preparation of two-dimensional nanomaterials and carbon materials and application of two-dimensional nanomaterials in biosensing and clean energy. In recent years, he has published more than 450 papers in internationally renowned academic journals such as Science, Nat. Chem., Nat. Commun., Chem. Soc. Rev., Angew. Chem. Int. Ed., J. Am. Chem. Soc., which have been cited more than 52900 times with H index of 115, and 203 are articles with IF (Impact Factor) greater than 10. Prof. Zhang also works as an editorial board or advisory editorial board member of Chem Soc Rev, ACS Nano, Chem Mater, Small, Nanoscale Horizons, ACS Appl Mater Interfacese, Nanocsale, Carbon, etc.

Prof. Zhang was included in the list of“the Most Influential Scientific and Ideological Scientists in the World” and “Highly Cited Scientists” (2014-2017, Thomson Reuters), honored as “One of the 17 Most Influential Scientists Today” (2014, Thomson Reuters) and "World's Most Influential Scientists (2016, Thomson Reuters)", and awarded American Chemical Society (ACS) Nano Lectureship Award (2015), World Cultural Council (WCC)  Award of Special Recognition(2013) , the ONASSIA Foundation Lectureship (Greece, 2013), Asian Rising Stars (15th Asian Chemical Congress, 2013), SMALL Youth Innovation Award (Wiley-VCH, 2012) and Nanyang Outstanding Research Award (2011). In 2014, he was elected as a fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry (FRSC). In 2015, he was elected a fellow of the Asia Pacific Academy of Materials Science (APAM).
