Jiasheng Hong

Jiasheng Hong received Ph.D in engineering science from the University of Oxford, U.K., in 1994. His doctoral dissertation concerned electromagnetic (EM) theory and applications.In 1994, he joined the University of Birmingham, Edgbaston, U.K., where he was involved with microwave applications of high-temperature superconductors, electromagnetic (EM) modeling, and circuit optimization. In 2001, he joined the Department of Electrical, Electronic, and Computer Engineering, Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh, U.K., where he is currently a Professor leading a team for research into advanced RF/microwave device technologies. He has authored or co-authored over 200 journal and conference papers and two books, Microstrip Filters for RF/Microwave Applications [Wiley (1st ed. 2001) and 2nd ed. 2011)] and RF and Microwave Coupled-Line Circuits, Second Edition (Artech House, 2007). He has served on the Editorial Board for international publications of IET Microwaves, Antennas and Propagation and Wiley RF and Microwave Computer-Aided Engineering. Prof. Hong was the chair of the Technical Programme Committee of the European Microwave Conference (EuMC) in 2011. He is a member of the IEEE Microwave Theory and Techniques Society (IEEE MTT-S) Technical Committee MTT-8 for Filters and Passive Components.
