Social Sports Guidance and Management
1. Program Description
Social sports guide and manage professional training of applied talents with good morality, cultural cultivation and sport ability, and with the basic theoretical knowledge and skills about the capability of guiding and managing social sports, capable of planning, marketing, managing of the sports industry and market, guiding, directing, projecting leisure and recreational activities, with strong business sense and the practice ability. Among all the graduate students, parts further their studies, and most take up the job of marketing, projecting, managing and directing in clubs, sports management offices, sports associations, sports clubs, trade unions at all levels.
2. Program Duration and Credit
This is a four-year undergraduate program, which can be completed within a minimum of three years and a maximum of seven years. A total of 162 credits are required upon the completion of the program.
3. Curriculum
Three modules of courses are offered for the program: Basic Curriculum, Essential Curriculum, and Elective Curriculum. The Basic and Essential curricula are compulsory for a Bachelor’s degree.
The Elective Curriculum in the list includes extended disciplinary courses offered by the school into which an individual student is admitted, as well as cross disciplinary courses offered by other schools. Students can choose the extended and cross disciplinary courses according to their personal interests and career plans; however, credits should be approved by the School.

Prerequisites: None
After taking the course, students will have a basic and systematic understanding of all the body’s systems including the relationships between forms and functions, the part and the whole, the organism and external environment. They are also expected to understand the influence of exercise for the shape and function of human body and to tackle practical problems by using the basic theories and knowledge of exercise anatomy.
Exercise anatomy includes cytology、histology、human systematic anatomy and the influence of exercise to the organ systems of the body. After taking the course, students can be familiar with the influence of exercise to the shape and function of human body, and impact on the body’s physical function also the effects of human growth and development. Students are also expected to explore the relationship between mechanical movement and skill movement in order to provide anatomical basis for preventing injury and scientific training.
100402132103 Physiology of Sports and Exercise (4.00cr.)
Prerequisites: Sports anatomy
This course requires students to grasp activity pattern of physiological function, and the reaction of human body toward PE education and sports training, master physiological knowledge about PE teaching, competitive sports and fitness exercise, meanwhile learn how to assess students’ physical health condition and the effects of PE education and sports training, thereby laying a solid foundation for students’ future jobs and health.
This course includes physiological basis of the movement, physiology of competitive sports, and exercise physiology. The physiological basis of the movement is about muscle contraction, energy and oxygen support of muscle, and neuroendocrine regulation. Physiology of competitive sports is about muscle strength, aerobic capacity, speed, anaerobic endurance, principle of sport skill. Exercise physiology deals with obesity, weight control, physical fitness, exercise prescription, physiological characteristics of people of different ages and genders, exercise of people with chronic diseases.

Prerequisites: Theories of Sports
On the basis of a brief explanation of the basic concepts and theory of sociology, this curriculum studies the social problems in sports. The main purpose of teaching is to train students to use the basic theoretical knowledge and research methods of sociology to examine and analyze the various social problems in the field of sports, and deepen the understanding of sport itself, as well as the relationship between sports and human society.
Sociology of Sport is a basic applied course, which studies the sports problems from a sociological perspective of sociology, revealing the nature, structure and function of sports and analyzes the interaction subsystems of sports and politics, economy, culture and other social systems. It is a new discipline which integrates sports science and sociology. As a main course for social sports, this course should expand students’ knowledge, train the awareness and ability to solve problem from an interdisciplinary point, improve the capacity of practice.

The curriculum requires students could state the basic ideas, theory and mode of thinking of Sports Management. The students can explain all kinds of the basic process and working principles in the sports management, master the methods of sports management work basically, analyze the social sports phenomenon and solve all kinds of sports issues from the perspective of management science.
Sports management is the professional backbone courses for the students of major in social sports and management. It is an important curriculum for students in our institution to acquire knowledge of management. The main contents include the basic principles of sports management, sports management system and the management of all types of sports work which including school sports management, sports training management, sports event management, social sports management, sports information management, sports industry management, as well as the function of planning, policy decision, organization, leadership, control in theory and practice.

By learning this course, students will be able to teach people health care knowledge, improve their ability of health care, develop healthy behaviors, correct bad habits, eliminate risk factors, and to prevent the occurrence of disease by the means of communication and education. At last, they can promote health of human being and improve the quality of life.
The main content of this course includes to teach students to master the knowledge of health promotion, health management, health behavior, health fitness, healthy psychology, healthy eating, healthy sleep, safety behavior, rational use of drugs, obesity control, disease prevention, aging and death, life nursing, etc. so that they can impart knowledge and technology of health care to people so as to influence individual and group behavior, to eliminate risk factors of the diseases and to promote health.

Students are able to have a comprehensive understanding of theoretical framework in marketing, and are able to learn about the current situation in sports marketing theory and analyze marketing practical cases. The students are able to understand how certain theories of economics are applied in the areas related to sports, and know how to enhance the level of the writing and presenting of marketing reports.
Sports Market Planning and Management is a major course in social sports. It aims to study the process and rules of marketing activities in sports market. And the content of this course includes the features of synthetic, practicality and applicability. The core content of the course includes the core concept and marketing concept of market activities, general situation of sports industry, sports market, environmental analysis on sports marketing, sports marketing planning and market research etc. Through the classroom teaching, students are able to master the theory and method of sports marketing and enhance the abilities of analysis and practice through the understanding of cases.

By combining theories and practice, this course aims at familiarizing students with the relationship between physical fitness and health, the principle of carrying out physical fitness activities, the methodology of promoting physical and mental health by means of exercising and training, which will lay a solid foundation for students’ future work.
The course will introduce basic theories of health-related physical fitness, principles of implementing physical fitness activities and various evaluation and training methods of physical fitness. The course will cover physical fitness training of muscle, heart and lung, speed, balance, pliability, flexibility, etc.

This course aims to make the students master the significant role of sports industry in the modern society, understand and establish the concept of sports industry and make out the new trend of sports development. It requires the students should grasp the basic principle of sports industry and the content of realistic development. Not only students should improve their abilities of solving and analyzing development cases of sports industry, but also learn industrial economics, management science, legal knowledge in order to accelerate the development of sports industry and lay a solid foundation of making sports industry the important growth point of national economy.
Introduction to Sports Industry is the main course of social sports instruction and management, mainly studying the basic situation of the sports industry at home and abroad. This course mainly introduces the basic knowledge and cases of sports industry. Main contents includes the relationship between sports industry and the development of national economy, all kinds of operating strategies of commercial subject, sports consumption, sports funds, sports investment and sports intangible assets in sports market, income and benefits distribution system and pattern in side of the sports industry, the development plans and policies of the sports industry , as well as development and operation mode of Chinese and western sports, etc. Students are able to grasp the realistic cases and substantial rules of sports industry development systematically through classroom teaching and discussion.

This course is the main course of social sports instruction and management. It combines the law in our nation with the features of teaching and studying in sports major, explains the basic theory of sports law and studies systematically on the adjustment object, basic principles and relationship of sports law. This course also interprets the legal problem on social sports, school sports, competitive sports and sports management, studies the functions of all kinds of sports organization as well as the status of law and the standardization of sports industry, introduces the settlement mechanism of sports dispute. This course pays great attention to linking theory with practice, especially the hot and difficult legal issues in sports field.

Students could master the theoretical knowledge and sports skills of aerobics to lay the foundation of the cultivation of students’ adaptation ability to the new curriculum and new concepts of creative talents. Through this, students could utilize special knowledge to direct the aerobics teaching and carry out all kinds of activities of extracurricular interest-oriented class, and to develop the ability to direct physical fitness activities in community.
This course is composed of three parts: theory, sports skills, which is the major part, and practical abilities. The teaching approach of this course adopts practical teaching, combined with classroom theoretical instructions, self-study and seminar and live demonstration.
