Painting (Oil Painting)
1. Program Description
The Oil Painting program follows the path of realistic creation. It features emphasis on the training of basic painting techniques, with realism as its basis and major direction, as well as the concept and expression method of “freehand style” and “intentionality”. In terms of curriculum design, this program takes full advantage of the strength in “sketch color” to promote the development of relevant courses. The teachers are committed to cultivating students’ professional qualities and creative abilities and instructing them to command basic theories, knowledge and solid professional techniques of oil painting. This program aims to train all-round and learned educational talents who have innovative spirits and the ability to practice and explore, and high-level art talents equipped with extraordinary abilities of professional creation and research, so that they can teach or research in art at school or academies of art.
2. Program Duration and Credit
This is a four-year undergraduate program, which can be completed within a minimum of three years and a maximum of seven years.
A total of 159 credits are required upon the completion of the program.
3. Curriculum
Three modules of courses are offered for the program: Basic Curriculum, Essential Curriculum, and Elective Curriculum. The Basic and Essential curricula are compulsory for a Bachelor’s degree.
The Elective Curriculum in the list includes extended disciplinary courses offered by the school into which an individual student is admitted, as well as cross disciplinary courses offered by other schools. Students can choose the extended and cross disciplinary courses according to their personal interests and career plans; however, credits should be approved by the School.
