2. Program Duration and Credit

Three years generally, the longest period in school is not more than five years (including the interrupted study time, such as the leave of absence and so forth).
34 credits of courses in total, at least 22 credits of academic courses.

3. Core Courses and Introduction

Intermediate Microeconomics
This course uses gradual approaches to explain how to solve problems and conduct the policy analysis with Microeconomics theories. Apart from teaching the basic Microeconomics theories, this course also analyses these theories and the practical application, including behavioral economics, resource economics, the analysis of transaction costs, labor economics, international trade, public finance, industrial organization theory etc., on the basis of plenty of important contemporary economics. This course emphasizes on studying in class or conducting the scientific research training.
Requirements for The M.A. Degree are as follows:

  • students are required to report their research progress and existing problems, and analyze the scientific significance of research progress and the direction of further work with teachers, if necessary, to explore the ideas and methods of solutions to questions;
  • students should introduce the latest research results or forward issues of the currently development, and discuss the scientific significance of the results or progress, with the enlightenment and application for their research work;
  • The students are required to communicate and discuss the subject-related literature reading.

Intermediate Macroeconomics
This course uses economic concepts to explain practical problems. Taking it into consideration that students need to explore and understand many macroeconomic issues, investigate these issues from the traditional macro economics perspective. At the same time, it analyzes some other important macroeconomic issues, such as the determinant of long-term economic growth, the balance of trade and capital flows, the labor market and policy mechanism and organization. This course emphasizes on studying in class or conducting the scientific research training.

Intermediate Econometric
This course integrates both the methods and application of econometric. On the basis of the primary level, this course absorbs the contents of intermediate level appropriately. Focusing on the classical linear model, this course also introduces some appropriate extended models. It emphasizes the application of econometric software EViews to solve practical economic problems, as well as combining with the Chinese models. This course emphasize on studying in class or conducting the scientific research training.

Intermediate Regional Economics
This course uses both the theories and methods of economics and geography to conduct the researches mainly on the development of regional economics, regional relationships with each other, human economic activities and regional interaction, regional industrial clusters, regional economic technology and its effects, enterprise spatial organization and management, regional policy and its management and so on. This course emphasize on studying in class or conducting the scientific research training.

Intermediate Monetary Finance
This course takes the currency, monetary funds investment, financing and other economic activities as research objects, it conducts the research detailedly on how individuals, institutions, monetary authorities and so on obtain, apply, and manage funds and other financial assets. This course is strongly theoretical and practical, microcosmic and macroscopic, national and global. This course emphasize on studying in class or conducting the scientific research training.

Industrial Organization and the Theory of Enterprises
This course conducts the research on the business organization and industrial organization in various industries. The process and development direction of various industries, the interaction among different industries. It’s about how all kinds of economic entities including the role of government take effects in industrial development and evolution, as well as the rules of in the region of space distribution. It takes great effects on forming reasonable industrial policies, contributing to the coordinated development of industry and progress. This course emphasize on studying in class or conducting the scientific research training.
