Introduction to Outcome: As the first achievement of the Proofread Project of the Twenty-Four Histories and The Draft of Qing-Dynasty History，the revised edition Shiji was launched simultaneously around the world，first such venture in the history of publishing ancient Chinese books. The book produced over 3400 collating new notes and modified over 6000 important punctuation marks. Princeton University Professor Yingshi Yu suggests that the book marks the most advanced contemporary research of Chinese history. The revised edition Shiji gets listed in "Ten Highlights of Culture in 2013" by Guangming Daily, and in "Ten Cultural Events in 2013" by China Reading Weekly. It won a large number of important awards like the first prize of the Outstanding Achievement Award for Scientific Research in Higher Education Institutions by the Ministry of Education，the first prize of the Outstanding Achievements of Philosophy and Social Sciences in Jiangsu Province. It was detailedly covered in the media like Xinhua News Agency, People Daily, Guangming Daily, CCTV, and it was reported more than 300 times by at least 200 media at home and abroad.
Shiji: The Records of the Grand Historian, now usually known as the Shiji (The Scribe's Records, or Historical Records), is a monumental history of ancient China and the world finished around 94 BC by the Han dynasty official Qian Sima after having been started by his father, Tan Sima, Grand Astrologer to the imperial court. The work covers the world as it was then known to the Chinese and a 2500-year period from the age of the legendary Yellow Emperor to the reign of Emperor Wu of Han in the author's own time.
